Press release 078. Oficial Residence. Mexico City, May 6th, 2010. The Presidency of the Republic informs that President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, will make an Official Visit to Canada from May 26 to 28 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.
The purpose of the visit is to renew ties with Canada, with the aim of developing a cooperation agenda with greater scope and dynamism, for the benefit of both countries.
The President will meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to promote trade, investment and competivity, and to analyze topics related to the mobility of people, hemispheric affairs, security, environment and new energy sources. He will also meet with Governor General Michaëlle Jean, who visited our country in December 2009, and he will address the Canadian Parliament.
Before his arrival in Canada, on May 26, the President of Mexico will visit Boston, in the United States of America. He will be the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
