MIGRATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSONS IN TRANSIT

Requirements for Canada Citizens:

A transit migratory form is needed, but not a visa. Said card is always available at the Mexican port of entry.


*** NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR CANADIANS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS IN CANADA TRAVELLING TO MEXICO ***

Starting on March 1st, 2010, Canadian citizens that enter Mexico by air, land or sea must present a valid passport in order to prove their nationality.

Legal Permanent Residents of Canada must present one of the following valid documents:

-Permanent Resident Card, or
-Certificate of Identity, or
-Travel document



Requirements:
· Valid passport.
· Visa granted (if needed) by the country of destination.
· Proof of economic solvency, according to the time of transit in Mexico: international credit card, bank statements, or U. S. $500.00 in traveler's cheques or cash per week of stay.
